Petkim

Petkim Petrokimya Holding A.S. is the leading petrochemical company in Turkey, headquartered in Aliaga, Izmir Province. It was established on April 3, 1965 by the state oil company Turkiye Petrolleri, operated for decades as a state enterprise, and was privatized in 2008, after which a majority stake passed to the Azerbaijani state energy company SOCAR. Petkim runs manufacturing complexes at Yarimca in Izmit and at Aliaga, producing ethylene, polyethylene, PVC, polypropylene and other chemicals for the plastics and textile industries, which it exports across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
