Cambrian Railways

Cambrian Railways was a British railway company that owned 230 miles of track across a large area of mid Wales, formed through the 1864 amalgamation of several smaller railways, later joined by further constituent companies incorporated in 1865 and 1904. The company connected with larger neighbors, reaching northwest England through the London and North Western Railway and linking London and Wales through the Great Western Railway. Cambrian Railways was itself amalgamated into the Great Western Railway on January 1, 1922, under the Railways Act 1921, though its name survives today in the Cambrian Line.
