Monitor Group

Monitor Group was an American management and strategy consulting firm founded in 1983 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, by a group of entrepreneurs with Harvard Business School ties, including Michael Porter, Mark B. Fuller, and Joseph B. Fuller. The firm advised senior management at companies and governments worldwide, but the 2008 financial crisis forced layoffs of about a fifth of its staff, and on November 7, 2012, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Deloitte completed its acquisition of the firm on January 11, 2013, and its practices now operate under the Monitor Deloitte brand as Deloitte's strategy consulting division.
