Rentokil Initial plc is a British business services group based in Crawley, England, founded in 1925 as a pest-control business by entomologist Harold Maxwell-Lefroy after he developed treatments for an infestation at Westminster Hall. The company expanded and diversified under the leadership of Sir Clive Thompson in the 1980s and 1990s, and through its 1996 acquisition of BET plc grew into a broad facilities management services group operating across multiple continents. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
