SawStop

SawStop is an American table saw manufacturer, founded in 2000 by Steve Gass, David Fanning, and David Fulmer and headquartered in Tualatin, Oregon. Its saws are built around a patented safety system that detects the difference in electrical conductance and capacitance between wood and human tissue and, on contact with skin, stops the blade in under five milliseconds and retracts it beneath the table, turning what would otherwise be a serious injury into a minor one. The company has been owned since July 2017 by the German company TTS Tooltechnic Systems Holding AG, which also owns the tool brand Festool.
