Prysmian Group

Prysmian S.p.A. is an Italian multinational company that makes electrical and telecommunications cables, including optical fiber products, and describes itself as the world leader in cables for wind farms. It was founded in 1879 as Pirelli Cavi e Sistemi and became an independent company in 2005 when Goldman Sachs bought the cable division from Pirelli. It went public on the Milan Stock Exchange in May 2007 and joined the FTSE MIB index that September. Headquartered in Milan, the company operates in more than 50 countries through over 104 facilities with about 33,000 employees, and reported revenue of 17.026 billion euros in 2024.
