Takenaka Corporation

Takenaka Corporation is one of Japans five major general contractors, headquartered in Osaka. It traces its origins to 1610, when Tobei Masataka Takenaka, a shrine and temple carpenter, began operating as a carpentry business, and it took its present corporate form in 1909. The company provides architectural design, construction, urban renewal, engineering, and technology and research and development services, and has remained under the control of the Takenaka family since its founding, currently led by the seventeenth generation of the family. In fiscal year 2015 it reported consolidated revenue of 1,284 billion yen and employed more than 7,400 people.
