PORR AG

PORR AG is an Austrian construction company headquartered in Vienna, tracing its roots to 1869 when it was founded as Allgemeine Oesterreichische Baugesellschaft, making it the oldest company still listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange. Its present name comes from construction engineer Arthur Porr, whose own firm merged into the company in 1927, and the business was renamed PORR AG from Allgemeine Baugesellschaft-A. Porr AG in 2013. PORR is organized as an operating holding company across three main business units and works in civil engineering, tunnelling, building construction, environmental engineering and facility management in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe and select international markets. In 2020 it reported revenue of 4.65 billion euros and employed about 19,828 people, under chief executive Karl-Heinz Strauss, who has led the company since 2010.
