Kongsberg Gruppen ASA

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA is a Norwegian multinational company headquartered in Kongsberg that supplies advanced technology systems to the merchant marine, defence, aerospace, offshore oil and gas, renewable energy and utilities sectors. It comprises divisions including Kongsberg Discovery, Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace, and Kongsberg Digital, and as of 2018 generated NOK 14.381 billion in revenue with 6,842 employees across more than 25 countries. The company traces its lineage to the Kongsberg Weapons Factory, founded in 1814, and took its present name in 1995 after its defence operations were restructured under Norsk Forsvarsteknologi following the Toshiba-Kongsberg scandal in 1987. It has been listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange since 1993, and the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries holds a majority stake of 50.004 percent.
