All Railroads of the United Kingdom and Ireland

This child group collects Railroads members from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the Crown dependencies of Jersey and the Isle of Man, spanning the many small nineteenth century companies authorized by their own individual acts of Parliament before the 1923 Grouping and 1948 nationalization folded most of them into the Big Four and then British Railways (Caledonian Railway, Glasgow and South Western Railway, Great Central Railway), the early London underground tube companies (City and South London Railway, Central London Railway), and the present day national and light railway operators of Great Britain and Ireland. At 198 members this child group also remains over this atlas's oversized-group threshold and is expected to need its own further split, most naturally by England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, in a follow-on pass.
