The State Railway of Thailand is the state owned rail operator of Thailand, established in 1890 as the Royal State Railways of Siam and renamed to its current form on July 1, 1951. Operating under Thailand's Ministry of Transport from headquarters in Bangkok, it manages the country's national railway network of roughly 4,044 kilometers, running meter gauge mainlines across the country alongside a standard gauge airport rail link service.
