MTR Corporation Limited

MTR Corporation Limited is Hong Kong's majority government-owned public transport operator and property developer, operating the Mass Transit Railway, the territory's most popular public transport network. Established on 22 September 1972 as the Mass Transit Railway Corporation, it took its current name and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2000, and is based in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, with the Hong Kong Government holding 75.09 percent ownership. The company also operates transit systems on other continents including Australia and mainland China, and derives most of its profits from property development, usually adjacent to railway stations, and other commercial activities, reporting HK$60.011 billion in revenue in 2024.
