Rovos Rail

Rovos Rail is a privately and family-owned South African railway company, founded in 1989 by Rohan Vos and headquartered at Capital Park Station in Pretoria, that operates luxury train-hotel services across Southern Africa. It runs restored former National Railways of Zimbabwe coaches, each train carrying lounges, restaurant cars and private sleeping compartments, on routes spanning South Africa, Namibia and Tanzania, and it owns seven steam locomotives acquired between 1987 and 2007, some built as early as 1893. The company employs a staff of more than 430 across its on-board operations and its carriage-restoration depot at Capital Park.
