Rift Valley Railways was a consortium established in 2005 to privately manage the parastatal railways of Kenya and Uganda, after winning a bid to operate the century-old Uganda Railway network. It managed roughly 2,500 kilometers of railway connecting Kenya's port of Mombasa through Nairobi to Uganda's capital, Kampala, before both governments terminated its contracts in 2017 and returned the network to their national railway corporations.
