Boston Consulting Group, commonly BCG, is an American global management consulting firm founded in 1963 by Bruce Henderson as a division of Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company, becoming independent through an employee stock ownership plan completed in 1979. Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, it operates from more than 100 offices in over 50 countries with about 33,500 employees as of 2026, and is one of the Big Three, or MBB, management consulting firms alongside McKinsey and Bain. BCG generated 14.4 billion dollars in revenue in 2025, is led by chief executive Christoph Schweizer with governance shared among more than 2,000 managing directors and partners, and also runs the BCG X technology unit and the BCG Henderson Institute research organization.
