Blohm+Voss, also written Blohm and Voss or Blohm und Voss, is a German shipbuilding and engineering company founded in Hamburg in 1877 to specialise in steel-hulled ships. Its most famous product was the Second World War battleship Bismarck. In the 1930s its owners established the Hamburger Flugzeugbau aircraft manufacturer, which shortly before the outbreak of war took the name of its parent company. After a difficult postwar period the shipyard was revived under successive owners, became a subsidiary of Luerssen in 2016 and of Rheinmetall in 2025, and today builds warships and refits or builds megayachts.
