Known locally as the Rabbit Track Line for its poor condition and swaying cars, the company was converted to narrow gauge and absorbed into the Toledo, Cincinnati and St Louis Railroad in 1881, and its line was later returned to standard gauge and operated as part of the Toledo, St Louis and Kansas City Railroad, known as the Clover Leaf.
