Pacific National

Pacific National is Australia's largest private rail freight operator. Formed in February 2002 through the combination of FreightCorp and the freight operations of National Rail Corporation, it is headquartered in Sydney and was, as of 2016, operated by a consortium including Global Infrastructure Partners, the CPP Investment Board, China Investment Corporation, GIC Private Limited and the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation. It hauls bulk freight such as coal, grain, steel and ore as well as intermodal containers across mainland Australia.
