Alto (rideshare)

Alto is an American ridesharing company founded in 2018 by Will Coleman and Alexandra Halbardier, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and operating in the Dallas and Houston areas. Unlike most ridesharing platforms, Alto owns its own vehicle fleet and employs its drivers directly as W-2 employees rather than treating them as independent contractors. The company runs its own depots where vehicles are charged, cleaned, maintained and staged for service, giving it a more vertically integrated structure than competitors such as Uber and Lyft.
