Vias is a German regional rail operator founded in 2005 in Frankfurt, originally owned in equal shares by Stadtwerke Verkehrsverbund Frankfurt am Main and Rurtalbahn GmbH. In March 2010, Danish State Railways acquired the Frankfurt utility's stake through its subsidiary DSB Deutschland GmbH. The company runs regional passenger trains across the German states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia, including roughly 210 kilometers of the Odenwald Railway network, the East Rhine Railway and the Pfungstadt Railway, with some services extending into the Netherlands.
