Pan Am Railways

Pan Am Railways was a regional freight railroad operator serving northern New England, running Class II railroads from Mattawamkeag, Maine, to Rotterdam Junction, New York. It was founded in 1981 as Guilford Transportation Industries and was headquartered in North Billerica, Massachusetts, built largely from former regional carriers including the Boston and Maine Corporation and the Maine Central Railroad Company. The company became a subsidiary of CSX Corporation on June 1, 2022.
