Virgin Australia Holdings is an airline holding company headquartered in Brisbane, founded in 2000 as Virgin Blue Holdings, a subsidiary of Virgin Group. After entering voluntary administration in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, it was acquired by Bain Capital in August 2020 and relisted on the Australian Securities Exchange in June 2025, now owned by Bain Capital, Qatar Airways, Virgin Group and Queensland Investment Corporation, and operating Virgin Australia and Virgin Australia Regional Airlines along with the Velocity Frequent Flyer program.
