TAP Air Portugal

TAP Air Portugal is the flag carrier of Portugal, founded in 1945 and headquartered in Lisbon, where its primary hub, Humberto Delgado Airport, serves as a significant transfer point between Europe, Brazil and other former Portuguese territories in Africa. The Portuguese state has held varying degrees of ownership over the airline's history, including periods of full nationalization and attempted privatization, and TAP has leaned on Portugal's historic and linguistic ties to Brazil and Lusophone Africa to build one of Europe's more extensive networks to those regions relative to the airline's overall size.
