VietJet Air

VietJet Air is a Vietnamese low-cost carrier headquartered in Hanoi, established in the mid-2000s and beginning commercial flights around 2011 as Vietnam's first privately owned airline, breaking the long-standing monopoly of state carrier Vietnam Airlines on domestic Vietnamese air travel. The airline grew rapidly on a low-fare model targeting Vietnam's expanding domestic travel market and regional routes across Southeast and East Asia, becoming one of the two dominant Vietnamese carriers alongside Vietnam Airlines and a significant Airbus narrowbody customer as it built out its fleet. VietJet is publicly listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange and has continued expanding its network into longer regional and, more recently, longer-haul routes.
