Thai Airways International

Thai Airways International is the flag carrier of Thailand, headquartered in Bangkok with its hub at Suvarnabhumi Airport, established around 1960 initially as a joint venture with Scandinavian Airlines before coming under full Thai state ownership later that decade. The airline built a reputation as a major long-haul carrier connecting Bangkok, a significant regional transit and tourism hub, to Europe, Asia, Australia and North America, and it is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Thai Airways entered a court-supervised business rehabilitation process in 2020 amid heavy financial losses worsened by the coronavirus pandemic's effect on international travel, restructuring its debt, fleet and route network before exiting rehabilitation in the mid-2020s.
