Singapore Airlines

Singapore Airlines is the flag carrier of Singapore, headquartered near Changi Airport and descended from Malayan Airways, founded in 1947, which split in 1972 into Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines following the dissolution of the joint Malaysia-Singapore Airlines. It joined the Star Alliance in 2000 and has long been regarded as one of the world's leading airlines for cabin service quality, a reputation built in part around its long-serving "Singapore Girl" cabin crew branding. Singapore Airlines operated the world's first commercial flight of the Airbus A380 in 2007 and has historically maintained an all-widebody fleet oriented toward its hub's role as a major long-haul connecting point between Europe, Australia and the rest of Asia.
