Air Vanuatu

Air Vanuatu was the flag carrier of Vanuatu, headquartered at Air Vanuatu House in Port Vila. Established in 1981, the year after Vanuatu's independence, it initially operated with aircraft and staff supplied by Australia's Ansett under a five-year arrangement, then was reconstituted under full government ownership in 1987 and maintained close ties with Qantas for decades, before financial difficulties led to its liquidation in May 2024, with limited domestic service resuming that August.
