Amazon Prime Air is a drone delivery service operated by Amazon, using custom MK30 delivery drones to autonomously fly individual packages to customers, typically within 60 minutes of ordering. Amazon publicly announced the concept in 2013, when chief executive Jeff Bezos revealed the plans during a 60 Minutes interview, though the service did not launch commercially until 2022. As of February 2026 Prime Air had completed about 16,000 deliveries across five United States states, Texas, Michigan, Arizona, Florida and Kansas, and it operates under an FAA Part 135 air carrier certification.
