Embraer is a Brazilian multinational aerospace corporation headquartered in Sao Jose dos Campos, Sao Paulo, that develops and manufactures aircraft, aviation systems and related support services. Founded on August 19, 1969 by Ozires Silva and funded by the Brazilian government to build a national aerospace industry, it was privatized in 1994 and is today the third-largest producer of civil aircraft in the world after Boeing and Airbus, known especially for its regional airliners and business jets.
