Diamond Aircraft Industries is a manufacturer of general aviation aircraft and motor gliders based in Wiener Neustadt, Lower Austria, with further operations in Ontario, Canada, and production lines run as joint ventures in other nations such as China. It was founded in 1981 by the Austrian aircraft designer Wolf Hoffmann under the name Hoffmann Flugzeugbau, and its first aircraft was a motor glider. It is the third largest maker of aircraft for the general aviation sector, with the DA20 and DA40 among its best-known types, and it has been a subsidiary of the Chinese company Wanfeng Aviation since 2017.
