The Cirrus Design Corporation, doing business as Cirrus Aircraft, is an aircraft design, manufacturing, maintenance and management company and a provider of flight training services. Alan and Dale Klapmeier founded it in 1984 to produce the VK-30 homebuilt aircraft, and it is headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota. It is majority-owned by a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China. Cirrus markets single-engine light aircraft in the SR20, SR22 and SR22T models, together with the Vision SF50 very light jet, and it has been the world's largest producer of piston-powered aircraft since 2013 and of general aviation aircraft since 2022.
