Cessna

Cessna is an American brand of general aviation aircraft, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, and owned by Textron Aviation since 2014. It began as the Cessna Aircraft Company, which Clyde Cessna and Victor Roos founded in 1927. General Dynamics bought the company in 1985 and Textron bought it in 1992, and when Textron acquired the Beechcraft and Hawker Aircraft corporations in March 2014, Cessna ceased operating as a separate subsidiary and became one of Textron Aviation's three brands. It is best known for small, high-wing piston aircraft, above all the Cessna 172, delivered since 1956 and sold in greater numbers than any other aircraft in history, and for the Citation family of low-wing business jets.
