This group collects Health Care sector members that design and manufacture finished medical devices, diagnostic equipment and clinical supplies used directly in patient care: surgical and orthopedic devices, cardiac and structural heart devices, medical imaging equipment, dialysis and infusion equipment, diagnostic reagent kits, contact lenses and other vision-care and hearing-aid devices, dental equipment, sterilization equipment, and protective and single-use clinical supplies. It is the second largest group in this subcategory, reflecting how many distinct device categories exist across patient care, and it is kept apart from Life Sciences Tools and Services, reserved for tools and services used upstream in drug and biologic research and manufacturing rather than devices used in direct patient diagnosis and treatment.
