Bristol-Myers Squibb Company is an American pharmaceutical company headquartered in New York City, formed by the 1989 merger of Bristol-Myers, founded in 1887, and Squibb, a pharmaceutical company founded in 1858 by physician Edward Robinson Squibb. It is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, and it substantially expanded its oncology and immunology business through its 2019 acquisition of Celgene, maker of the cancer drug Revlimid.
