EssilorLuxottica

EssilorLuxottica is a Franco Italian vertically integrated multinational holding company headquartered in both Paris and Milan, formed on 1 October 2018 through the merger of the French company Essilor and the Italian company Luxottica. It designs, produces and markets ophthalmic lenses, equipment and instruments, and prescription glasses and sunglasses, and because Essilor and Luxottica had respectively been the leading manufacturers of ophthalmic lenses and eyeglasses in the world, the merger effectively created a monopoly in those combined markets. Its brands include Ray-Ban, Oakley and Persol, sold through a retail network of more than 17,000 stores.
