Demant A/S

Demant A/S is a Danish international company involved in hearing care, hearing aids and audiometric equipment, operating across hearing aid manufacturing, hearing care retail and diagnostic equipment production, with brands including Oticon, Bernafon and Philips Hearing Solutions. Hans Demant started the business in 1904 after buying a hearing aid for his hearing impaired wife and began selling devices in Odense; after his death in 1910 his widow Camilla and son William took over, and the company adopted the Oticon name in 1943. It was renamed William Demant Holding A/S in 1997 and then Demant A/S in 2019, and is headquartered in Smorum near Copenhagen, employing over 22,000 people and generating about 22.4 billion Danish kroner in revenue as of 2024.
