Sinopharm Group Co., Ltd.

Sinopharm Group Co., Ltd. is a Chinese pharmaceutical company established in 2003 and headquartered at Sinopharm Plaza in Shanghai, China. Its parent, Sinopharm Industrial Investment, is a joint venture split 51-49 between the state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group and the private Fosun Pharmaceutical; the company listed H shares on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2009 and was ranked 829th on the 2016 Forbes Global 2000 list. As of 2015 it reported about 227 billion yuan in revenue and more than 138 billion yuan in total assets, and its group developed the BIBP COVID-19 vaccine, an inactivated-virus vaccine that completed Phase III trials in multiple countries and received World Health Organization emergency use approval in May 2021.
