Metro Bank plc

Metro Bank plc is a retail and commercial bank operating in the United Kingdom, founded by Anthony Thomson and Vernon Hill in 2010. At its launch it was the first new British high street bank in over 150 years. The bank is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. In early 2019 Metro Bank hit difficulties when it announced insufficient capital to meet regulatory requirements, after discovering an error in how it categorised commercial loans for capital adequacy purposes.
