CFA Institute

CFA Institute is an American not for profit professional organization that provides finance education to investment professionals and sets standards in ethics, education and professional excellence across the global investment industry. It traces its roots to 1947, when four financial analyst societies formed the National Federation of Financial Analysts Societies, and took its current name in 2004 after operating as the Association for Investment Management and Research. Headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia, with offices worldwide, the institute administers the Chartered Financial Analyst designation established in 1962 and reported membership of 213,700 in 2025.
