BPER Banca

BPER Banca S.p.A. is an Italian banking group based in Modena that offers traditional banking services to individuals, businesses and public entities through roughly 1,273 branches across most Italian regions, and it is listed on the FTSE MIB index. Its history traces back to Banca Popolare di Modena, founded in 1867. A 1983 merger created Banca Popolare dell'Emilia, which combined with Banca Popolare di Cesena in 1992 to form Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna. The bank took its current name, BPER Banca S.p.A., in late 2016 after new rules required cooperative banks above 8 billion euros in assets to convert to joint-stock companies.
