HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian private sector bank headquartered in Mumbai, incorporated in 1994 as one of the first private banks licensed after India began liberalizing its banking sector. It is India's largest private bank by assets, and in 2023 it merged with its parent housing finance company, Housing Development Finance Corporation.
