Cater Allen Limited, trading as Cater Allen Private Bank, is a UK private banking institution founded in 1816 in Blackburn, England, making it one of the longest established private banks in the United Kingdom. It provides banking and savings products to individuals, businesses and professional intermediaries, with much of its business coming through accountants, solicitors and financial advisers who arrange banking relationships for their clients. Cater Allen is a wholly owned subsidiary of Santander UK plc, part of Banco Santander, having come under Abbey National ownership in 1997 and then Santander ownership when it acquired Abbey National in 2004.
