C. Hoare & Co, also known as Hoares, is a British private bank offering private banking services including loans, mortgages and savings accounts. It was founded on 5 July 1672 by Sir Richard Hoare and remains a twelfth generation family business, owned by eight direct descendants of Sir Richard Hoare. The bank is based in London, with branches at 37 Fleet Street and 32 Lowndes Street, and is the oldest privately owned bank in the United Kingdom and reputedly the fourth oldest in continuous operation worldwide.
