It was established in 1987 as AGAS Limited during the deregulation of the business gas market and describes itself as the largest industrial and commercial natural gas supplier in the UK. The company became part of Elf Aquitaine in 1996 and later transitioned through several corporate rebrandings as its parent evolved into TotalEnergies, the French oil supermajor that wholly owns it today.
