Phillips 66 is an American downstream energy company headquartered in Houston, spun off from ConocoPhillips in 2012 to separate that company's exploration and production business from its refining, marketing and chemicals operations. Its name traces to Phillips Petroleum Company, founded in 1917 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and the company today operates refineries, pipelines and a large network of Phillips 66, Conoco and 76-branded fuel stations.
