Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, abbreviated BPCL, is an Indian public sector oil and gas company headquartered in Mumbai, founded on 24 January 1976. Overseen by India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, it is the country's second largest government owned downstream oil producer and operates three refineries, located in Bina, Kochi and Mumbai.
