TGS

TGS, formerly TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA, is an energy data and analytics company that collects and analyzes seismic and geological information to help evaluate subsurface formations for oil and gas drilling operations worldwide. It was formed by a 1998 merger of three companies, TGS (Tomlinson Geophysical Services Inc.), Calibre Geophysical Co. Inc, founded in 1981, and NOPEC International ASA, founded in 1981. It maintains financial headquarters in Oslo and operational headquarters in Houston, Texas, is led by chief executive Kristian Johansen, employs about 2,000 people with offices in Oslo, Houston, London, Rio de Janeiro and Perth, and trades on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker TGS.
