Galp Energia SGPS S.A.

Galp Energia SGPS S.A. is a Portuguese energy company headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal's principal integrated oil, gas and increasingly renewable energy group. It was formed in 1999 through the restructuring and merger of the Portuguese state's existing oil refining and gas distribution businesses, including the refiner Petrogal, into a single holding company, which was subsequently partially privatized. Galp is best known internationally for its upstream partnership with Petrobras in Brazil's prolific offshore pre-salt fields, including the giant Lula field, alongside its traditional Portuguese refining, fuel retail and natural gas distribution operations, and the company has increasingly directed investment toward renewable power generation and green hydrogen projects.
