Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc. is a retailer-owned wholesale grocery cooperative that supplies independently owned supermarkets and grocery stores, serving more than 4,000 locations across 36 states in the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest from eight full-line wholesale divisions. It was founded in 1924 as Associated Grocers of Kansas City and was originally based in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Kansas City, Kansas. The company distributes four private-label brands, Best Choice, Clearly Organic, Always Save and Superior Selections, alongside IGA, and its consolidated run-rate sales are close to 10 billion dollars.
