Metro Inc. is a Canadian supermarket chain founded in 1947 in Verdun, Quebec, by Rolland Jeanneau, and headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. The retailer operates grocery stores and pharmacies across Quebec and Ontario, and is the third largest grocer in Canada, after Loblaw Companies Limited and Sobeys, operating store banners including Metro, Super C, and Food Basics among others. The organization generated approximately 21.20 billion Canadian dollars in revenue during 2024 and employs roughly 90,000 workers across its divisions and subsidiaries.
